The frameworks we’ll be exploring in Wild Soul Summer School have been life and “battle” tested. By “battle,” I’m referring to the intense initiations that people who choose to live consciously or devote themselves to a spiritual orientation undoubtedly face.

And we’re never just experiencing our own personal evolutionary paths. As part of the tapestry of humanity, we also travel through the lessons, journeys, and initiations of a collective (whether we like it or not!). It’s the reason I’ve always loved this image by Autumn Skye and the metaphor of sacred weaving.

It’s a wild understatement to say that much has occurred on the world stage in the last decade.

We’ve been taxed with living through and witnessing upheaval, violence, indignity, and truly devastating shit. Some more directly than others.

For those who care to, there are also constant invitations (pressure) to figure out what’s ours to do in all of it.

How do we help? Contribute? Make a difference? Lessen suffering? Create something different? Seed possibility? Or simply not add to the dog pile?!

Those questions have many, MANY answers, and the Wild Soul Frameworks were born to help us navigate them with grace, love, compassion, wisdom, and expansiveness. To be part of something different and emergent.

The same way, various things are always growing, dying, blooming, germinating, or just peaking through the surface in a forest simultaneously, so go our lives every.single.day.

The original Wild Soul frameworks have already been meaningful for thousands of people. And after so much change since they originated in 2013, 2017, and 2020, respectively, I’m really excited to see what the next evolution of each one wants to be and how they will help guide us into this imminent new era humanity is staring down the barrel of!

Something I observed, even as a fitness professional before I got into embodiment, healing, and liberation work, is the way a lot of people orient toward “What else can I do?!” and “What’s next?!” without deeply engaging with what they already have.

While a lot of work keeps people in seeker mode, always chasing and searching for the “next thing!”, I’ve always been more oriented toward finding timeless teachings that can carry me through life, and I wove pillars that do just that into these frameworks.

Some would call this lineage.

As a lot of folks are disconnected from their ancestral roots, or have many roots to choose from (shout out to my fellow mixed/multi-racial and ethnic folks!), it also makes sense why people get trapped in the consumption of healing, growth, and transformation and often don’t end up freeing themselves from much.

They’re not used to having nameable, solid, and reliable roots.

Life typically doesn’t ask us to learn a lesson once and move on.

It asks us to revisit the same themes, questions, challenges, desires, griefs, and possibilities from different levels of experience.

There’s a BIG difference between working on things (endless and repetitive, feels like progress is happening, because you’re “doing stuff,” but is it really?) vs working through things (your relationship to your issues, goals, dreams, skills, talents, etc tangibly shift in meaningful and desirable ways that genuinely improve your life).

This is why I never stop banging the drums of PRACTICE and INTEGRATION.

Each time you encounter something, it changes you. Sometimes the difference is slight. Others, it’s massive. And of course, there are plenty of experiential possibilities along that spectrum.

The value of a framework isn’t that it gives you somewhere new to go.

It’s that it gives you somewhere meaningful to return to.

And because you’re different each time you return, the work reveals something different, too.

That’s one of the reasons I’ve continued returning to these frameworks over the years, personally and not just as the steward of the teachings.

Each time life has transformed me, I’ve met the work from a different place.
